We visited for a two night stay and two rounds of golf last week....I was nothing short of impressed! We will be back again, but will bring my sister and her husband next time! Entire experience was awesome!
Very relaxing environment where you can get away from everything. I highly suggest checking out the spa. Very pretty golf course and well maintained. All in all, loved my stay.
Course was open and in nice shape. Greens held the ball well and weren't too fast. It was our first round of the weekend so the extra room in and out of the fairways was nice. The practice area was really beat up but they were working on getting it healed. As always, the people there are great and make it a joy to play there.
Getting back into golf after an absence of many years is a daunting task. It would probably be easier if you had been a scratch golfer, which I never was. I had however been adequate to go play with friends and not be terribly embarrassed. When I picked up the clubs at the range, my swing was TERRIBLE.My friend had wanted to attend this academy, so talked me in to joining her.I was amazed at the ability of the instructors to make all class members feel comfortable and help each to make some important changes to their swing. What is so amazing is that there are class members from very low handicaps to beginners . All have fun and learn.I will be working hard on the tips and drills I was taught, and plan to return to continue improving my game. The instructors managed to make the learning fun, permitting me to believe I can have fun playing golf again.
In the spring I enrolled in the Pinehurst Golf Academy and it was the best money I have ever spent. It is a lot of money (the earlier in the year you go the cheaper), but they literally give you the keys to a golf cart on Friday and then proceed to not give a crap about the rules for 72 hours. Golf School ran from 7am to 11:30am, then you go out and play in a foursome with a pro tagging along. The pros have amazing stories and tips to give through out the day. Once 4 or 5pm rolls around, things get interesting. The pros pretty much ask you want you want to do. Want to play 16,17,18 of #2? screw it, lets go!! Want to play #7 backwards? screw it, lets go!! This will be the closest experience I will ever have to what it is like to have my own personal golf course and it was at flipping Pinehurst!! Total bucket list trip for a golfer.
Really fun course. Tough, but in a good way. Nice design with a few uphill climbs and beautiful long dropping par 3's. Pinehurst No. 3 was also a really fun course with tougher, small tortoise back greens.
I recently went on a golf trip to Pinehurst, NC. We went May 21-23rd. We played #8, #2 and #5. We stayed on some type of package which included two nights accomodation in a two bedroom condo and breakfast each day. It was pretty expensive ($1300) but I think it was worth it to cross this destination off my list. Each of the courses were in really great shape. #2 obviously was ready for the big show. It was awesome to watch the same holes you played, being shown on TV. I sat there with my scorecard as I watched. #8 was great and very fun to play. #5 was shorter and a little tight as it wound through some housing areas. We stayed at Lakeview condos. It was a decent place and had a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The balcony provided a great place to relax after golf. The breakfast buffet at the Carolina Hotel was the best breakfast buffet I have ever had. I cannot imagine how it could be topped. We ate at The Tavern and also Dugans Pub. The Tavern was nice and food was good. It had an nice feel to it being a tavern. Dugans was just ok.The last thing I would like to say about the trip is a compliment about the transportation system inside the resort. Basically, there are shuttles that come and pick you up like a free taxi service. We didn't touch our car while we were staying here.
Just got back from 4 days at Pinehurst, NC. What a great trip! The golf was challenging but fun. We had a wonderful caddie--Rocky. He is friendly and knowledgeable. He has many years of experience and caddies for the pros. Rocky added to the enjoyment of the courses and improved my game over the four days. You won't be disappointed in asking if he is available while you are at Pinehurst.
The courses are in great shape. Back to the normal golf courses not much water to deal with and rough is so short it is like playing in fairway. Must see the clubhouse to see all the history. We were there dor all the setup for the open.
went top visit before the US Open. how nice were the staff. top notch. had a nice coffee. the proshop staff were cautious and friendly. was impressed by the course too!!
Dropped by Pinehurst Golf and Pinehurst Village for a short visit on our drive to Myrtle Beach. This is a must visit area for any golf enthusiast. Just walking around the clubhouse looking at the historic pictures, trophies and memorabilia is worth the visit. The whole place has an excellent vibe and is steeped in history. The pro shop staff provided excellent friendly service. They have a second pro shop set up just for US OPEN inventory. Bought a very nice Adidas US OPEN golf shirt for $35....hard to beat! The restaurant is quite reasonable and has outdoor dining area. Unfortunately, we arrived later in the day and did not have time to play one of the spectacular courses at Pinehurst or numerous great courses in the surrounding area. The village of Pinehurst Village is charming with several old hotels adding charm. If you are in the area take the time to Visit Pinehurst and area.
As we drove up to the bag drop area we knew we were in for a special treat. Cordially welcomed by the bag man and the staff at the pro shop desk, we quickly checked in loaded up the carts and were off to the range. When we got to the first tee box the starter greeted us with a smile on his face and helpful information. The course was in great shape for late December. Fairways, tee boxes, greens and unfortunately the bunkers were groomed nicely. The greens make this course very demanding. Overall a very enjoyable round - in this golfers opinion as tough as #2.
好みにもよりますが、No.2, No.4,No.7,No.8が人気があるようです。私も No.4,No.8の設計者Tom Fazioのコースは、難しいですが、ロケーションが綺麗なので大好きです。
