This is an awesome place the views are brilliant and I think it is about 8km distance unfortunately the climate did not suit me for a walk but I do hope to go back later in the year and walk it so I can appreciate what Horn head has to offer at leisure.lovely area.
This is part of our club cycle route, regardless of how tough the going can get you will never tire of the vistas from up there ,put it on your bucket list.
Totally worth checking out. We were killing time and decided to follow the signs. The view is just stunning. It was a rough, rainy day but the cliffs were still impressive and the size of the waves was crazy!
Watch out for the good old grass up the middle of the road, not one for a low sports car.....unless you tread with care.
This is one of my favourite places to visit in Donegal. The views are amazing.....while at the top and on the way down....looking over Dunfanaghy and the beach at Killyhoey and when the sun shines it is truly amazing. Definitely worth a visit even if the road is not great. Just take your time and have the camera ready.
This is a remote and wild place. We were there on a sunny day, but the wind still howled and the views were amazing. Don't miss it
I visit Dunfanaghy every year and never tire of this circular walk, which covers dunes, coastal cliff tops, coves, fields and wonderful views of sea and mountains. Allow three hours including breaks, and it is recommended to take a raincoat as the weather can change very quickly!
The views from here are stunning walked up to an old look out post to just sea in all directions perfect sunset walk
Horn Head cliffs are stunning - a very desolate and beautiful place. Every bit as spectacular as the Cliffs of Moher and you'll likely have the place to yourself.
Horn Head is well worth the rather frightening loop drive, made less so since the loop at least goes in one direction and there are no cars coming at the opposite direction once you start the drive. If the day is clear, the views over to Tory Island and the Bloody Forehand would be unforgettable. Even with a hazy day that blocked part of the clear view, it was magnificent. Not many tourists get up to this part of Ireland, and part of me hopes that they do not find it....it is a magical part of the island.
A beautiful drive with a spectacular cliff view stop at the top of the mountain with a view into the Atlantic eternity...magical
A spectacular trip, but do not attempt it in a large vehicle. Instead take the special bus which covers the loop.
What a great drive! Beautiful beyond words. We stopped several times for photo opportunities. We have seen it before, but well worth our time.
Just a great way to spend a few hours but the sunshine did help !! Great views and spectacular scenery
Great views up & down the coast and across the Derryveagh mountains. The short walk from the road up to the old coastguard lookout is a bit uneven.
