praia grande beach

Still had a great time and great service from the local beach chair/table rental guy. The water was as cold as an ice cooler even on this hot summer day. The wind was so strong the sand exfoliated our backsides. We still had a great day!

According to historical records, Arraial do Cabo was the probable place on which Americo Vespucci landed in 1503, during the first exploratory journey sent by the Portuguese Crown. In spite of its historical importance no sign of that epic endeavor can be found, except for a modern landmark erected by the Municipality. Well, all this is secondary if you are interested in relaxing on the beach or diving. By the way, this town is the Mecca of Brazilian divers, because of the crystal-clear waters and the extraordinary variety of sea life. There are many specialized shops in which diving equipment can be rented. Be sure of making your hotel reservation in advance, mainly during high season, from December to February. Once Arraial do Cabo hasn’t relevant “inland” attractions, more than three days can be too much time to spend in town.[original in English]

the beach is very beautiful, but the sea is rough, and one can enter only up to the knees. perfect for surfers, but nice for tourists too. good infrasctucture including hotels and restaurants.

The beach is marvellous, cristaline water, but cold as ice and very, very wind. It is a wonderfull place to get a good & warm sun without feel it too much.The sun itself can be dangerous , because, thanks to the wind, you really dont feel it . It is a place that surely I will came back and is really worth to visit.Just be prepared to have all your itens covered otherwise you will get sand everywhere.

The Praia Grande Beach is the biggest and most accessable beach of Arraial... The service there is very nice with chairs and umbreallas, and the view is wonderful. The water is not so warm, but nice to cool off a bit after some hours in the sun.There are a lot of waves most of the days, which makes it popular for the surfers as well.. Close to the street, a cafe/restaurant offers food and drinks if you want to sit on a chair when you eat.Absolutely a must when you go to Arraial

The sunset is beautiful, the water is extremely clear and cold, and there are good waves for surfers!! I loved this beach

It is easy to get there, extremely white sand and caribbean water color. The water is a liltle bit cold; You have some restaurants where you can have lunch for 10-15 dollars. If you drive a car, the parking lot is 5 dollars a day.

28 mph wind all day all night. All week. Apparently fishing and tourism are the main things here but you wont find fish in the supermarket and price in a resturant is twice the price of chicken. Dissapointed. Wales in the summer is a million times better than this. Have worked in brazil for a year and speak portuguese. Here is like a much poorer version of a resort in Thailand 20 years ago.

Fun for the family its not much more than a beach so unless you look for sand....its a beach

This beach is endless with white sand and a blue sea.I tried walking to the end of it but it is several miles long.Praia Grande is a perfect get away for stressed couples and from the busy beach in Zona sul.Best time to visit is jan-february when the sea is calm and the sun is always present.Surfers season begins in may-july with waves over three meters.The beach have different food stands that serve fresh juice,acai and pasteries.ZeZe

I was here right before Carnival, so there were not many people at all, and none of that crazy loud stereo sounds blasting everywhere. Therefore take this into account, when reading this review. I rode my bike there, and after the end of the bike lane, I kept on going until I reached a path that took me paralell to the beach. There I went towards the beach, and found an empty beach, beatiful crystal clear water, and sunshine.

Praia maravilhosa para curtir um dia lindo de sol por ser tranquila, existe um serviço de praia de um quiosque que fomos inclusive jantar quase todas as noites (exatamente o 1 quiosque do lado do mirante) preço justo com pratos para casal e sucos naturais. Vale a pena ver e aplaudir o por do sol!

Praia bonita e tem belo por do sol. Normalmente agua rasa mas tem correnteza muitas vezes. Faixa de areia extensa e com muitas barracas para poder sentar e curtir a praia. Conta também com quiosques espalhados pela orla.

A praia é bem grande e o mar costuma ser bem gelado. Tem bons quiosques, mas o melhor mesmo é ir ver o incrível pôr do sol.
